Do you ever feel like you are creating content with no real purpose? Or felt like you have nothing to say ? I have !
Content creation is such an important part of business, which is why it’s important to have purpose behind what we, as business owners are creating.
After feeling like I was stuck in a content creation drought, I discovered a method that has completely changed the way I do content creation. Here is my 3 step method for working with content buckets in your business:
If you don’t know what your goal is, why are you even creating content to achieve it? Before you create content, set a goal. Your goal may be to get 5 new clients, or book 3 one-to-one meetings for the next month, or your goal may be to increase your email list.
Whatever your goal is, it’s actually going to help drive your content. Which, in my opinion, is the way we should be doing it, instead of creating content just for the sake of it.
What I recommend doing is creating 4 content buckets. In a month, I find it helpful to use one content bucket per week, and then recycle them again in the following month. The content buckets in my business are:
(1) Encouragement,
(2) Productivity,
(3) Content and Marketing,
(4) Goal Setting.
When I first started I used these content buckets for my blog and youtube, and for Instagram I used separate content buckets, however now I use the same buckets across every platform. So it’s really up to you whether you use the same content buckets across every platform, or if you want to change them up.
At the end of every month, I like to sit down and plan content for the month ahead. Here's an example of what that might look like:
My goal for the month: book 5 Facebook Marketing Management clients
Week 1 (Encouragement): 3 benefits of using Facebook so that you don’t burn out while marketing your business
Week 2 (Productivity): How I set up my Facebook Business account within 4 hours
Week 3 (Content & Marketing): What to post on Facebook
Week 4 (Goal Setting): A review of my analytics dashboard to track goal progress
Do share and comment, what do you think about this.
